We really enjoyed our visit to Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation above Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. (It is not listed on the agri-tourism map.) Tours of the mill and sample cups of coffee are free; longer tours, bags of coffee, and T-shirts cost. You will need detailed directions to find it. While the farm is a relatively short distance from downtown Kona, the road is confusing and the sign is easy to miss. (When the road ends, you have gone too far.)
